I only have Saxon waistcoats to wear with my kilt. They all have pointed bottoms, which does require me to lower the sporran, but only about an inch or so, nothing that creates a striking visual. By that logic, a flat bottom waistcoat would not require adjustment? It would seem so, but I personally could not say.
How does it look? I like it, but, I will concede that this particular nuance is subjective.
