If it will allow you to post, do it and it becomes alive again. If not and you really need it, either include a link or ask Steve to open it and he might just do that.

Hi All, thank you for the replies to the thread like I said not having a go at anyone, just curious, Carlise 401 [JIM] I understand about the A&S tie, I wear the Black Watch as we lived in married quarters so a little more connected to the regiment.

I'm on a few different forums and this is the only one where threads automatically lock.
So on XMarks any time a non-current thread is referenced, it's a locked thread. Though new posts aren't allowed, yet I think it's often better to give a link to a previous thread on the topic at hand, than have to say the same things over and over through the months and years.
That's the problem with quickly locking threads: topics that regularly come up require a new thread each time. This is why Xmarks, unlike any other forum I'm a member of, has thread after thread, sometimes dozens of them, on a single topic.
But when the Photobucket issue reared its ugly head the need for making a new thread every couple months for the same topic became a blessing.

I served in The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment). It's the the only Regimental tie I wear, my Grandfather served in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, I feel a certain connection, but not enough to wear their Regimental Tie.
I will have my Regimental tie on this Sunday together with my Hunting Stewart trews and waistcoat. It will be to commemorate the 75th anniversary of two RAF training aircraft in Scottsdale Arizona.

So the big question that I have, how does one know for sure if their tie really is a regimental stripe tie? I have 2, one that is marked A&S, the other was sold as being a Black Watch regimental tie. Neither one is exactly as shown being sold from official or regimental museum shops.
At first I didn't want to wear them, but then when they are different, now I've lost my qualms about wearing them.
