What are your go to kilt hose colours
Hi all.
Just having a day dream when the question came me, I know a lot of the rabble here are against white and cream so what are your go to hose for day or evening, not necessarily black tie because I know a lot wear Argyle or tartan or even diced hose. Hope I've not brought up a recurring thread, I apologise if I have.
Regards

The cheap $16/pair Khaki hose from What Price Glory. They go with everything. Followed by red House of Cheviot.

For daywear, I tend to wear House of Cheviot Lewis hose in ancient green or bison, or HOC Rannoch hose in dark natural. Other than those, I sometimes wear a pair of handknit hose from USA Kilts in bottle green.
For those times I'd like to up the ante a bit without going so far as to wear diced or Argyle hose, I like the House of Cheviot National Scott Argyle top hose (black hose with a green foldover with black/red diamonds with black/white lines) or the Ancient Scott (ancient green hose with an ancient blue foldover with black/green diamonds and red/green lines). See below. (I'm not sure HOC is still making these, but they're still available from vendors online. Other color options are available as well.)

Cheers,
SM

My kilt is in Mackenzie Ancient tartan, so my favorite hose are lovat green and lovat blue to harmonize with the softer colors of the kilt. I'm inclined to stick with those two, especially when my lovat green Argyll jacket finally arrives.
For dressier occasions I also have a nice cream pair, and for "mucking about" some extra-long gray hunting socks from Cabela's.
I have my eye on Cheviot hose, since I've heard such good things about them, and I'm wondering whether the red Lewis would look well with the soft red, almost orange stripe in the kilt.

my "go to" hose
House of Cheviot Claret and my latest House of Cheviot Mustard Yellow are my "go to" Hose colours.
I also Have a grey pair and a brown pair that I wear but not as often
I also have white colour hose that I have worn with my charcoal gray tweed jacket and waist coat at a funeral and with a PC at a wedding but that was the only times I have worn them

I have the green hose from Cheviot that look like those worn by the Black Watch. I wear red wrap around garters.
I also have a handmade pair of red hose that I really like, but I keep them back so as not to wear them out. A member on this site made them for me.

What are your go to kilt hose colours
I like those HOC hose I don't have any at moment, but I do have a pair of custom made by Henderson Highland Hose up in Berwick upon Tweed which feel really nice I also have Glen beg in burgundy, tartan green, and black plus 2 pairs of cream which I usually take on cruises for the black & white nights, btw the H H Hose are tartan green leg with tartan cuffs to match my kilt. I'll be having a look around in Edinburgh in June when I go back up, I know I can get them on line but it's an excuse to go up there plus I like to feel & see them first.

I have three pair. All HOC glenmore hose (it gets pretty warm here).
Colors are ancient green, ancient blue, and dark brown (I think they call it bison).

Depends on what kilt I should wear, Royal Stewart then it is Lovat hose. Carlisle kilt which has the main colour blue then blue hose. I am moving away from the white hose as black tie.
