Welcome!
Hi, and thanks for joining the party. I found a very blurry image of this online and it is indeed as close as I’ve seen to what I’ve got. The cantle has a different engraving to the edge but mine could be a Liverpool Scottish from a different manufacturer, with a switched badge. It does beg the question why on earth would someone go to all this trouble?! Would a soldier be allowed to wear such a thing?
The museum at Fort George got back to me to say they’ve never seen one like it, so I guess I just need to accept that it’s just plain weird.
As I said before, I’ve kind of gone off it now that I know it’s not an official variation so maybe I’ll be able to find a crazy Cameron that would be keen on it for their collection.
Or maybe I’ll start my own ‘wierd’ collection. You should see the ‘KOSB’ one that’s appeared on my radar. No sign of anything like it anywhere...
Cheers!

Anyhow the OP has no photo, and I'm in the dark as to what sporran is being talked about.
But here is an Officer's sporran of the Liverpool Scottish, I do believe, which might be mistaken for a Cameron Highlanders sporran, especially if the badge got switched.
