My apologies to the forum
Sorry, Rabble!
I recently posted a very "over the top" video from 5.11 Tactical, regarding their kilts (which apparently are a product derived from an April Fool's prank that tapped an unexpected market).
The video clip was chock-full of ludicrous levels of pyrotechnic tomfoolery. Distracted by my own amusement, I forgot and thus disregarded the general proscription against depictions or descriptions of weapons on this forum.
The clip has been moved to X Marks' version of Old Tolbooth prison. Visiting hours are never.
Again, my apologies. In future, I'll endeavor not to allow my Ps to trip over my Qs.
Cheers,
Jack

Many people would like to have others believe that X Marks is somehow anti-gun. I can assure you that that is not the case.
Over our long history it has been shown time and time again that anytime a gun comes into the discussion the topic always ends up focused on the gun and the rights and all the other stuff. The original topic of the kilt is soon forgotten or pushed aside. It has happened over and over.
The recent thread was a good example of what happens every time. The thread may start with a reference to the kilt but before long it is turned to a discussion about guns. And then why can't we talk about guns here. And before long a person's right to talk about guns.
X Marks is a unique place. Our chosen topic of discussion is the kilt. We allow anyone who wishes to discuss any other topic to seek out other forums, facebook or any other media they wish to discuss what they want.
All we have ever asked is to be allowed one little corner of the web to discuss what we want to discuss.

I'm fine with both posts above. I liked the video, and in fact posted it to my Facebook page, but this IS a kilt forum, so it is reasonable that it be kept such. Cheers!

An apology isn't necessary, but it's certainly the mark of a true gentleman!
Overall, the Mods really want to keep this an organized place for discussion of the kilt, and I appreciate that, as a participant. There is a time and place for everything, but this is the place for the kilt.

I also (with my eyes to the sky studying rainbows) have walked into quicksand by posting comments outside the boundaries. The ladies and gentlemen of XMarks are renowned for understand human error. Thanks to all that appreciate the concept of "top drawer" standards and scruples and to those that forgive unintended transgression.
