I have been toying with the idea of altering a conventional jacket and kinda making a "hybrid". For example you could take a blazer or tweed sport coat and just under the lowest button do some carefully preplanned (with a rough pattern) cutting. All that needs done then is a new seam around each side. If you live in a major city, clothing consignment stores are a great resource. There you can pick up jackets, vests, waistcoats etc. When getting a jacket for the cutting idea, we would have to choose one where the pockets don't foul everything up. Patch pockets might be best because they can be moved. Have fun. - Alan
