How about "The Waking of Ned Devine." The story was set in Ireland.

    Scottish film:
    Dear Frankie

    Scottish TV shows:
    Hamish MacBeth
    Shetland
    The Two Ronnies

    Cornish TV shows:
    Doc Martin
    Poldark

    Irish films:
The Dead (one of the best movies I've ever seen; short and amazing)
    The Commitments
    The Snapper
    The Boys From County Clare
    Once
    The Field
Calvary (be prepared to be depressed)
An Everlasting Piece (I worked on the soundtrack)

    Irish TV show:
    Father Ted

About Tunes Of Glory, I finally got my hands on the book and read it.
You know how you see a film, then read the book, and find out all sorts of backstory and details they left out of the film?

Tunes of Glory isn't like that. The screenplay was written by the novelist and follows the book word-for-word, pretty much. To me the main character has more psychological depth in the film than in the book, a thanks to Sir Alec's acting.

We did get the Highlander movies but failed to mention Highlander, the TV series. It ran for about 7 years and was available on Hulu, last I checked. I think Highlander, the movie came first then the TV series. Thanks to Wikipedia, it started with the movie in 1986. Christopher Lambert as Conner Macleod. That was followed by two more movies.
In 1992, we got Highlander, the Series with Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod. Conner MacLeod makes occasional cameos. Then three move movies from 2000-2007.
