Ron, if those are the standard "issue" type belts then the buckles are set on with teeth and can be very easily removed. About 10 seconds and a pair of pliers should do the trick.
Anyone that's interested might also check some of the sutler type supply places. Just type civil war uniform or sutler into any search engine. I use Winchester Sutler and Dixie Gun Works (great supply of buckles) for most of my skirmishing uniform needs. Or go here and check the links page... http://www.n-ssa.org/ They have a whole list of sutlers.
Also, if anyone is into shooting or historical re-enactments, the Dixie catalog is well worth the 5 bucks it costs. Just the historical content alone is worth more.
