That is very sad news, I never had the pleasure of meeting Geoffery, geography made that impossible. Nonetheless he was an important member of the forum.

Geoff was a friend that I made through this Forum. Not only a member, Geoff was also a Retired Moderator of our Forum. Rocky describes Geoff perfectly. Over the years, I would see Geoff and his wife Michele at the Highland Games in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. They attended in Fredericksburg many XMTS Kilt Nights and Fredericksburg Scottish Society Burn's Nights.

Three weeks ago today, Geoff and Michele, XMarker SVC3bt (John Samonsky) and wife and I shared a table at the Fredericksburg Scottish Society Burn's Night. Geoff was 'the life of the party' with his telling jokes and stories. He shared that last August, he had a heart value replacement operation that was successful. Unfortunately, while hospitalized came down with pneumonia which kept him there for several weeks. He even that night was still on the mend with portable oxygen nearby. It didn't slow him down one bit.

Tomorrow, Sunday at 10:30 AM at The Garden of Remembrance in Clarksville MD Geoff will be laid to rest with the area Scottish American Military Society attending. Attired in XMTS regalia I'll be there representing all of you.

Till we met again friend for another "Hamish".

Geoff was a good friend and an effective Moderator. He was supportive of us all. He will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to read this sad news. I never met Geoff in person, but he was one of those people that I would have very much liked to have done so. Please pass on my condolences to his wife, family and friends.
