A nice WE Scott brown "Day" sporran with bovine front.
Seems a bit older, the leather of the flap seems more supple than what they use nowadays.
The bad thing is the seller's history: he's only sold two items, one he shipped to the seller, the other he didn't.

The seller's listing says it is by Kommando Kilts and made in the US - but the pictures of the rear of the sporran show the familiar gold oval 'Made in Scotland' and my guess this has come out Scott's workshop in Edinburgh.
He is selling it as new without tags, which it might have been at one time, but it looks very shop-soiled if that really is the case..! Note that the chain-strap D-ring tab is missing.
I would say this is used, but in reasonable condition.
The seller seems to be showing a lack of knowledge and experience here, but this is a good opportunity to acquire a 'vintage' classic-style day sporran by a good Scottish maker.
The asking price is about double what I would expect this sporran to be on eBay.uk (see here for example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176080745014), but if shipping cost from the UK is taken into account, this may have appeal in the US home market.
And think of what the fur is...

I don't remember if I or someone else has mentioned this before, but there's an Etsy seller Toby McGregor Sporrans who is selling apparently self-made sporrans which are on the rough-and-ready side and don't appeal to me.
However mixed in with that lot are a few nice vintage Scottish-made sporrans for reasonable prices. Unfortunately you have to dig through pages of his strange creations to find all the vintage sporrans.

Not sure of the provenance, but here’s a decent deal so far at $25 +shipping.

That's a different looking sporran for sure. I like it. Thanks for posting.

There is much about this sporran that suggests first half of last century, and if it can be had for the current price, it will be a real bargain for a lucky someone.

I'm certain it's a World War One sporran. It's stamped "5532" on the back. I wish I knew what that might mean.
Here are two variants, on the left with hidden fastener (probably a press-button) and on the right with the exposed fastener.
The left sporran bears a 48th Highlanders (Canada) badge.
It's hard to see the cap badges and collar badges. The righthand man's kilt might be Cameron of Erracht or MacDonald.
The North Nova Scotia Highlanders wore MacDonald, the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry Highlanders wore MacDonell of Glengarry.

Really nice sporran in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders style (mostly) by L&M Highland Outfitters (Nova Scotia) for around half what it might cost new.
My concerns are 1) the seller's low feedback number and 2) is it just me, or does the seller's hand make the sporran look small? I used to have one of these, they're big sporrans. (And for me not comfortable to wear.)
