Well, yes, but all the questions and parameters I mentioned still apply with my wife. Venue, level of formality there, her mood... and there are still some pantsuits that are just as formal as any skirt, so it depends on all and any of those far more than whether I am wearing trousers or a kilt, which is in fact unimportant to the decision.
