    The Fair Hill Scottish Games

    Attention members living in Eastern Maryland, South/Eastern Pennsylvania, and all of Delaware: The Fair Hill Scottish Games are this weekend, May 18, 2024. The Fair Hill Games are held at the Fair Hill Fairgrounds in Elkton, Maryland, just a few miles from the Delaware and PA borders.
    This is a sanctioned event for Athletics, Pipe Bands, Drum Majors, and Scottish Dancing, so there's a lot going on. Of course, there’s also food and entertainment, including the really cool Albannach.
    My group, the Saint Andrew’s Society of the Eastern Shore, will have a tent in the Clans and Organizations area. I should be there most of the day, so drop by, say hello, and share a wee dram.
    FYI: I’m the newsletter editor (called The Bagpiper) for SASES. If you want to receive a copy or be added to the mailing list, send me a note with your email address.

    Here’s the website for the Fair Hill Scottish Games;

    Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
