County Cavan v Leaping Salmon HoE designs

Seems to me that House of Edgar has reused the design of an Irish County Tartan for an Hebridean Range Tartan.

Oh the results have all be lovely! But it does jump out to the ear and eye.

To me it's almost like there are two County Cavan tartans now

Cavan Hunting (the original Edgar Cavan)

    Cavan (Leaping Salmon)

I'll admit, I really do like the MacKenzie Hebridean, but I just can't justify the cost of another kilt. Perhaps a waistcoat.

I'm in the same boat with Black Stewart Hebridean. It looks nicer that Black Stewart usually does somehow. I need to see the swatch again!

That was my first introduction to the Hebridean Range of tartans, seeing a swatch-book at a local Highland Games several years ago. I was struck by the beauty of them. As usual with tartans photos don't do them justice.

In a similar way Marton Mills does beautiful twists on several traditional tartans. Especially nice are the ones they do in tweed.

That's what struck me about the MacKenzie Hebridean, to my eye it looks tweed-ish (tweedy?)
