Swatches - Marton Mills
My swatches from USA Kilts arrived today:
Dunlin
Moorland & Coffee
Plover
I would have preferred photographing them in natural sunlight, but it's a gloomy, gray day here in Pennsylvania.

I added links to the tweeds on the Marton Mills' website. On my uncalibrated monitor, there is a vast difference in hue between the swatches and the MM photos.

Nice selection! I didn't know that USA Kilts offered such a broad color palette for tweed jackets. Do you know what the price point will be for an Argyll and vest will be if you choose your own tweed, as opposed to an off-the-rack color? When I looked today at their site, my impression was that prices have increased quite a bit, but I've not shopped jackets for quite some time, and my guess is that tariff uncertainties could be involved here…

Custom TWEED jackets start at $600.00, more if the material you want has a surcharge.

I went through this process, looking at the swatches in various light situations along with swatches from my four (quite different) kilts.
I thought Plover was the most versatile- a chameleon of a tweed- but ended up going with something different.
Also very versatile was Lomond (blue) from Lochcarron. I haven't bought one, but I have seen that colour offered as a "stock" jacket (a Crail) at a lower price.
Then just last year St Kilda was offering a "stock" jacket for a lower price, an Argyll in Moorland & Coffee, so I grabbed one while I could.
I posted this thread back then about my attempt to escape the dreaded pipers' Black Argyll, which I have successfully done. I haven't worn mine in years.
