Rolling out with my first tank

Took it all out for a 'test drive'.

    Observations:
Avoid dressing while in a rush.
Watch chain can come down one. Also, beware the T-bar is long and might poke out past the vest edge.
Shirt: Not a fan of relaxed "modern fit". Material may be a little 'slick'. Kilt was slipping down(it is most certainly a heavyweight). Take extra care to secure properly.
Sporran belt will take a little more attention to set right.
Didn't realize hose was inside out until I took them off(durrp).
Make effort to kilt up more often; will feel more natural/comfortable.

I think that you have identified many of the kilt wearing pitfalls AND the solutions perfectly.

Nice look. You have done yourself, and the kilt community, well.

Me too! Those braces are an old man's friend—and stimulus to have the seller of a waistcoat/jacket pair make the waistcoat BACK panel from tweed or barathea as well (instead of satin) if you're planning to attend hot outdoor summer games WITH waistcoat but SANS jacket.

Your self criticism is good and it is right to try and up your standard.
The only comments I would make are about your photos.
In order to get a better view I suggest a wider backgound which is in contrast to your dark clothing.
I would also recommend a more relaxed pose. Try and look natural and comfortable in your attire.
As you wear the kilt more frequently it will mould to your body and develop a more worn and natural look which suits it better. Try going for a good walk it to get the pleats moving. It will help loosen everything off. Country dancing is also good for that.
You have got off a the right foot. Enjoy your kilt.

    Here’s a selfie I took recently.
