I, like Jock, don't know what this means.

    66 as in Route 66? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_66

Or does 66 have a different meaning in Oklahoma?

(If it was three digits I could guess, like the way "304" means something in West Virginia.)

It's route 66 the fairgrounds is right off the old mother road.
We figured with it being the 100 yr anniversary of route 66 we would have it in the name of our game.

It's kinda a tribute to one of the 3 games that Oklahoma lost this year.
We had what was called battle for Oklahoma. It was a friendly rivalry between the tulsa area groups and the Oklahoma city area groups.

In case this has Jock Scot scratching his head, I believe he's talking about College Football.

Many US states have a college called by the name of the state alone, and a second college with the word "state" appended.

So the state of Oklahoma has longstanding rival universities commonly called "Oklahoma" and "Oklahoma State" their full titles being University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.

Thus when somebody says "Oklahoma" they could be talking about the state itself, or they could be talking about the University of Oklahoma.

    Confused yet?

In any case those rival schools are both in the Oklahoma City area so as somebody living in California I don't understand what Tulsa has to do with it.

Actually it has nothing to do with college sports.
The throwing groups or practice groups for the Highland games. It was a friendly rivalry between them. It was kinda broke up between okc which was the western side of the state and tulsa being the eastern part..
