Hard for me to tell, I think it was "bottle" green.
It's a term often used in old Scottish catalogues referring to a dark green seen with hose, bonnets, and jackets. As best I can reckon bottle green isn't quite as dark as UK "archer green" (extremely dark and regularly mistaken for black).
In the USA we say "forest green".
Which reminds me of the pipe band I used to play in which wore dark green jackets.
Bands that use any colour besides black will always have trouble getting all the jackets to match, and this was no exception. Even though all the jackets were ordered from the same Scottish maker (Kirkwind) and were understood to be going to the same band, they were in a variety of colours ranging from a vivid Kelly green to near-black Archer green and everything in between.
It was like the Irish song "Forty Shades of Green".
