I must admit that I'm highly attracted to their Confederate Memorial Kilt.
eh, What's up Doc?
I don't have any of their tartans yet. Perhaps after I get some of the other kilt makers on my list purchased, I'll get some.
The two that I do have are based on their Kaber Kilt. I have the Orsman and the Valkyrie. They are both made of cotton twill. The website calls it "100% cotton denim twill", but my Orsman doesn't feel coarse like denim. It feels like smooth cotton twill, almost like my Dockers but thicker. I have it in Khaki. It has a snap in the lower corner of the apron which is for holding it down much like a kilt pin is used, but I've never used it.
I would take a picture of me wearing it and add it to this post, but I'm working under my truck today so I am in my jeans until I am done with my repairs.
My Valkyrie is black. It does feel more denim like, similar in feel to my UK original.
Before anyone buys a Valkyrie model, let me warn you that I bought it because it has cargo pockets, and Since I like the pockets on my UK original and workmans, I thought it would be nice to have. When it arrived, I went to put it on and found that the snaps were in the wrong aprons.
After more careful study I determined that it was in fact the ladies version. I did not find anything on their web site saying that it was the ladies version before I bought it. I thought that it was modeled by a woman on their site just to show the fact that woman can wear kilts also, much like the way the UK has photos of women wearing the UK.
I was going to change the snaps to make it wrap the men's direction but they have that pleated inner apron and that would make it look strange so I only wear this one to work. Fortunately no one there really knows about kilts other than what they have seen on me so I don't worry too much about it, but I'm not spending that kind of money on something and not wearing it at least once. I was going to send it back, but my wife convinced me it would be fine for work since I already wear my UK Workmans there so the cost would not be an issue.
