Hi Galant,
I am pretty much with Jimmy on this one. As I have added to my Kilt Kollection I have tended to "go next for something different; something in contrast to what I already have"! My first tartan kilt was (and still very much is) in my Clan tartan - Gunn. Not liking the modern colours very much, however, I opted for the Ancient colours (basically green). I have the same tartan in Weathered colours (soft brown), Maple Leaf (bright red), Buchanan Weathered (multicoloured), Nithsdale Regional (Red/Green), MacIntosh Ancient Hunting (brightish green), Tartan Army (Blues), Kinloch Anderson Corporate (Brown/Navy), Kinloch Anderson Hunting (Green/Blue) and City of Edinburgh (Grey). My solid colour kilts run across the colour spectrum from Black to White, with almost everything in between.
I like, and would willingly wear, virtually any tartan, but I cannot get very excited about the many Bottle-Green/Navy Blue based ones (of which there are so many), perhaps because there ARE so many of them!
