Thanks
Thanks for your kind wishes. I don't know why I did not join this group earlier as it is complimentary to the group I have been running for 7 or so years. I started a group called 'Guys in Kilts' some 7 years ago -this was a basic email group and we simply swapped information and pictures (sad or what!) this evolved into a Yahoo Group called Men-in-kilts and then I rebranded the enterprise a couple of years ago as 'The Sporran Clan' in order to try and achieve a balance between culture, information and shall I say a little 'spice'. This still operated as a Yahoo Group but due to Yahoo limitations I decided a month ago to open our own website and also operate a better quality bulletin board.
Often kilt groups can get bogged down in long discussions on how high to wear one's hose or sporran or alternatively stuck in a groove displaying too many up-the-kilt shots. With our group I felt we should attempt to achieve a balance. The kilt is a sexy garment and a man in a kilt usually looks far better in one than out - what we try and do is to celebrate that fact and at the same time, celebrate the culture tied into kilt wearing (ceilidhs, highland games, celtic bands etc) + arrange social gatherings. Hopefully we can cross fertilise ideas across each forum to mutual advantage. Any Scots living in Scotland members of this forum do get in touch as we are keen to boost numbers attending events in Scotland. We also hold a meets in London, Blackpool, Ibiza, Gran Canaria and Sitges - in fact anywhere where there is a number of members based or visiting.
Carry on Kilting!
