I have seen the "tourist" kilts and I own several Stillwaters. I can assure you, the quality of the products I have from Stillwater Kilts is far superior to those items.
I do not know the conditions under which these kilts are manufactured.

do know that their quality is significant, and my money on them was well spent.
Then I am gratified that you were not 'conned', BJC, as so many have been in the past - and will be in the future. Please do not think I am criticising Stillwater kilts, which I have not seen other than in photos, because I most certainly am not. As I say, I have never actually seen one, but I HAVE seen the cheapos being sold here in the UK.
