I've tried the rolling method a number of times, but haven't been satisfied with it. If you have a carry-on sized suitcase, you can generally do the following:
-Pack the rest of your suitcase first
-Lay your kilt out flat [buckled or unbuckled] on top of the rest of the clothes
-Fold the top down towards the bottom so that the fold comes within the stitched-down portion of the pleats
-Gently tuck any extra bits in place so they don't get caught in the zipper
Reading these instructions, I realize that they aren't so clear. I tried, I guess.
