If you use a precut kit, yes. But the cloth that comes off a bolt is selvedged on both sides. It really is an interesting option. I've been scanning the web for cloth and the best I've found is a half bolt (30 -35 yards x 66") of 19 oz for about $18.00/yd. I just don't need that much

I have an Uncle-in-Law that sells this stuff so I need to see if he can make me a deal.

The cheap stuff is very "nappy" and fuzzy but the mid to high end stuff is very smooth. You figure it has to be to allow the ball to role true.

I added a scan of a piece with the selvedge in my gallery. Forgive how fuzzy it looks it has been in a pile of scrap I use to line wood cases.

How much of this cloth would I need to get my hands on to have enough for a 4 yd kilt. One site I looked at said about 14' x 53". Would that be for a 8 yard kilt or a 4 yard?
