Alas, not me, Graham! I am an ardent Royalist and, of course, I wish Charles and Camilla many years of happiness BUT, he should renounce his Rights to the Throne.

I do not wish to go into too much detail here, it's not the place for it, but I knew both Prince Charles and Princess Diana very well for many years. I visited them at their country home, Highgrove; I was invited to their Receptions and Christmas parties at Kensington Palace, and I have accompanied The Princess to the Royal Opera House in London, and met her from time to time after their separation and divorce. I mention all this simply to strengthen my claim that I knew them both really quite well and certainly better than most.

Frankly, I have little personal respect for the man, although I acknowledge his stirling charitable works through The Prince's Trust. His treatment of The Princess was diabolical from even before their marriage - at which ceremony he made solemn promises and vows which he had no intention of maintaining. Had he been the husband to Diana that he promised to be, her life would have been very different; her health would have been sound and she would have been truly happy - and alive to this day! Diana was used by Prince Charles and abandoned by him. It is little wonder that her health suffered and that she sought affection elsewhere - just as he had done from the start.

I shall never forgive him for that and I pray that he never becomes my King.
