Brace yourselves, Lads.
Last year, I spent $700 on a pair of German made, all leather Riding Breeches. All suede buckskin. Bring out the Gimp!
Why? The grip they give you in the saddle. Like Velcro. During the last month of Foxhunting season last year, I came down with a case of Vertigo (where a little pice of calcium carbonate breaks free in your ear's semi-circular canal, thus causing an occasional, rapidly spinning sensation) It will knock you off your feet if you're walking at the time. Imagine what it does to you on horseback. My purpose bought German breeches kept me in the saddle, even while my world was spinning.
They are the cruelest of all bifircated garments. They feel like you're wearing wet jeans, because they're so close to the skin. I have yet to get used to the weird feeling. They limit how far you can spread your legs, making it hard to get on a horse, but once you're on, you are locked in, baby!
I wash them once a season using the same soap the germans use for their lederhosen.
