Greetings!
A friend of mine takes a "baste" stitch through his plaid, and his jacket (under the eppulatte) so it doesn't show. *he* likes it, but I haven't tried it.
My wife occasionally (often?)"borrows" my plaid if she's cold, and didn't bring anything of her own (Ok by me, but it eliminates stitching as an option).
Here's my solution...I hope this makes sense. My plaid is rather heavy, and "drags" my jacket lapel "off-center" when I wear it...So I asked a friend (a seamstress...In fact, she made the jacket..) to add a small "loop" on the inside, exactly under the eppulatte. I then attach a 1 inch wide twill (in a color that matches my shirt...Usually white) to a "suspender-type" clip, that attached to my kilt at the top edge, on the side. (If you have ever worn a shoulder holster, you get the idea). It holds upo the plaid, and allows the jacket to hang "normally", regardless of wheather its buttoned or not. And the twill strap is vitually invisible in use.
Hey...Just a thought!
