WAY TO GO! I wish I had been into kilts in high school. The ability to be your own self in a place that encourages herd behavious as much as the average high school speaks volumes about you. seriously pick a tartan you like and wear it with pride. If anyone gives you grief they aren't worth the breath to aruge with them.
Just tell them your name is a recent addition the sept of families linked to clan. Which is true wearing the tartan in essense shows respect for them and makes you linked to them...sort of. Loop hole!
