private messages being weird

You know it doesnt send you a note to let you know one has been recieved right? There is a little note under your folder jump in the inbox that will say something like:
You have 2 confirmed and 4 unconfirmed private message receipts

Also people can choose whether or not to send a reciept so that might be the deal as well.

I had a PM today with the wrong sender's name on it. I opened it to find it was someone else.

I'm showing a flashing icon that I can't seem to respond to or shut off but it's showing the date and name of a message from several months ago.

Oh, I had that also, but it was today (Sunday).

I just reopened my pms and that made the flashing icon go out. Interestingly the flashing icon in each instance was the last message I read, not the next one in que to be read.

Ah. I did not know that. That explains one message [the receipt is there], but the other seems to have disappeared into thin air. I shall resend it.
