I love the tweed kilt Hamish. I notice the website states the kilt is 24" in length, slightly long for me. Do you know if they can supply additional lengths? I suspect not as it seems they are not especially kilt orientated.

I think you are correct in that assumption, Martin. Not that I have questioned the 24" length because it actually fits me quite well without any need to consider alterations. Maybe if they receive sufficient enquiries for other lengths they will consider making them available.

I have been to the House of Bruar and tried on their tweed kilt.....much to the amusement of my better half. i refused to come out the changing room. If it came to half way down my thigh I would be exaggerating. You need to be suffering from ducks disease I reckon (long body, dumpy legs) for it to fit ya. Also, I have to say it felt a bit girly. I felt i was crossing a boundary I didnt want cross (or should that be cross dress?)

We cannot be speaking of the same kilt here!

A 24" long kilt is quite a long kilt even allowing for a 2" rise, which this one does not really have. It is tailored to sit lower. I am 6'00" (or 5'11" when feeling particularly tired!) and am of average proportions, and that kilt fits me perfectly. It is also a heavy kilt, not something that a "girly" would wear - at least, not any girlies that I know!

I have now worn my 'Windowpane' tweed twice whilst on duty for The National Trust at Petworth House, and have received numerous compliments from both house staff and visitors alike on my appropriate "Country Gentleman" appearance. It can't be that bad surely?
