I am waiting on mine. The 6 weeks was up yesterday. So my ship notice should be here soon, I hope.

Some people on the UK Yahoo group were giving them heck for taking too long. While I am not happy about waiting, I am happy that the wait is almost over. :-)

Scary stuff...UPS in my rural town just zips by and tosses the package on my porch leaving it for the neighbor kids to steal....no signatures anymore...so use USPS where its kept safe for pick up (no mail delivery in my little town).

Never understood the UPS -USPS wars...like Coke and Pepsi...most companies "have" to choose one or the other...ironically, Major League Baseball, subsidized by the taxpayers, refuses to ship via the USPS...silly.

Hope in your town they have you sign for your kilt, or that you're home when the UPS driver comes around....of course in my little town the UPS guys still leave it on the porch, even if I'm home....

Yup, I'm not a happy camper when it comes to UPS...I insist my kilts come to the post office.

    Dang you Riverkilt,

You had to remind me of the shipper problems that I have. The last 2 shipments I had here came during hurricanes. I am pretty far inland and experience some flooding. Both times the shipper would not deliver to my area due to flooding. I was in the EOC and I know that my area was not flooded. I also know the truck drove right by my house. I finally narrowed it down to the driver not wanting to get wet from the rain. I called the office and complained. The manager gave me a sob story about how the roads were blocked from flooding. I called BS as I was in the EOC keeping track of the roads. It took 3 extra days to get my stuff.

So why is this important? I am waiting on my kilt and guess what is heading our way? Irene.

    At least you know.

Fully 10% of what I buy does not arrive at all or is stolen off my porch. ('Don't know which.) I have lost $1500 USD to internet fraud in the last year.

So I am not too sympathetic when you guys get a TRACKABLE package.

    Thumbs up Point Well Taken

Ok, I have to admit after reading the last few posts that I won't complain too much anymore about how UPS won't leave a package on the porch and I have to drive 9 miles in evening rush hour to pick the darn thing up. At least I do get them.

    Patience. (Arghhhhhhhhhh!)

I don't like the Brown Trucks!

I've had my fill of the arrogance and rudeness of UPS. If possible, I do not do business with them.

If I need to ship something that the Postal Service can't or won't handle, I use FedEx.

The main thing that really torques me off with the brown truck people is the fact that if you don't have a regular pick-up account, you have only 2 hours to make drops at their terminals. You can go from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m, and from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Miss the times by a couple of minutes and you are SOL.

The FedEx folks on the other hand, keep the doors open long past their posted business hours and will take shipments at any time. And the prices are as good as or better than UPS.

So folks, I encourage you to go with the red, white, and blue truck when you need to ship a package.

I've had UPS leave a gun (A Knight muzzle loading rifle) on my front porch, as well as my last kilt I ordered. Fedex, on the other hand leaves nothing. I had to call them to arrange "a delivery time" for a package of networking connectors which cost less than 5 dollars to be delivered. They still do this in spite of my requests to the contrary.
