Hello! The PA Tartan is about 10(ish) years old...As you said, the Sheepskin Shop in Ebensburg is the only place that sells it, and in blanket weight only...However, if you are planning on having it woven (i.e. through Matt or someone else) I will be interested in purchasing some cloth...Let me know how things work out!

I see the Ohio tartan is just butt ugly.

    Who designs these things?

If I remember right, the PA tartan was designed by William H. Johnston, and I don't think anything official was ever done with it.

In any case, I can get cloth. Minimum order is 4 yards. $65 per yard, 28" wide, either 16 oz or 13 oz weight. If you want to get more let me know -- larger quantities I can get double width, effectively cutting the cost in half.

I'm heading out of town in the morning until Tuesday, so if anyone PMs or emails me, don't expect a response till then.

    Everyone have a great weekend!

You beat me to it, Prester John. I'm just surprised that they don't require sewing a block "O" and that pot-leaf in it.

Yes, I Want To Have The Pa Tartan Made!

I will definately be ordering enough Pennsylvania Tartan to have a kilt made.

Is anyone interested in getting in on this production?

    Sincerely,
    OE

Dog gone it, what'd you have to go and do that for? Now I have ANOTHER one to add to the list. Lets see, formal Hay tartan for the daughter's wedding, Navy Tartan, Polaris Tartan, Scottish National, Irish National, now this one. I'll never get caught up.

I've been thinking about getting a PA kilt for a while, but until recently it wasn't available commercially. And even then, the only cloth I found was that same blanket. This is too good an opportunity to pass up.

So, OE, which do you prefer - the 13 oz. or the 16 oz.? I found my 13 oz. is comfortable year-round in NW PA. The 16 oz. ... well, I think that would be comfortable during lake effect snows, but it might a little warm the rest of the year. But I could go either way.

OE, I could be convinced. The tartan is pleasing to my eye and my wife is from PA. She might also like something in this tartan!
