"This actually sounds quite good. So many people nowadays seem to just use peppers to make things hot, so much so that it's ONLY hot. Peppers can have a wonderful flavor as well, if your mouth has a chance to taste it."
Part of the problem is that a lot of people today don't know anything about hot peppers. The trick I learned early on was to not let the heat overpower the flavor. I'm sure that there are some out there that have a great flavor but I can't find it for the heat (not many but a few are too hot for me).
The all pervasive Tabasco brand is a very flavorful, mild sauce but, because of the heat, my wife has never been able to taste it. What I prepare for myself is not something that she, or everybody else for that matter, will enjoy and I can't expect them too. So yeah, if it gets to hot for you, you won't enjoy it at all.
Mild to medium sweet sauces are great sources of flavor for those that have a low tollerance to pain "heat" and even for those of us that like a change of pace. Just keep in mind that the hotter it is, up to a point, the better it is for you.
