Well to properly cap this thread (but feel free to continue to say hello!), I should tell everyone about my first public kilted experience. I have mentioned in another thread that I wore my SK home from the gym yesterday morning, but to be honest, while I was had a little trepidation about it, most people were just not going to notice or comment on the kilt at 6:30 in the morning!

However, tonight, Friday evening at high dinner time rush, we went out to dinner with my wife, 2 daughters (4.5 and 2.5), and my Mother who is visiting us this weekend. Just after I got home from work, and before going to dinner, I took a quick shower and threw on my SK with a tanktop and flip flops (I did not know we were going to dinner at the time).

Anyway, poured myself a glass of wine and went to sit on the back porch where my wife, daughters, and Mother were chatting with our neighbors. When I first appeared at the screen door, my wife looked a little unsettled, but then my neighbor looked at me (the husband) and said nothing, and his wife also took in my clothes and did not say anything, so my wife decided to leave it alone. Still not sure about her reactions and views, although she made some comments after we got home that were positive, but un-suitable for family consumption.

To complete the story, we decided to go to a local restaurant and have some dinner. I did dress up the kilt (gun metal gray SK) with a plain, white, pocketed t-shirt and sandals. Nobody at the restaurant gave me any encouragement or grief, and I tipped the waiter a little extra for his constraint and tact.

    Later,
    RJI

The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long
