Here is the "Shadow" tartan from SW, which Jerry says is closer to Dark Island than Nightstalker.

The first one was wool this one is acrylic. I agree the wool is nicer. Can't wait to see what SW wool black on black looks like.

Maybe seeing these tartans next to each other will help people decide which they like better:









As you can see, there is similarity between House of Edgar's Dark Island tartan and Stillwater's Nightstalker tartan; however, look closely and you'll see their thread counts are clearly different.

I've always liked the Nightstalker. I guess when I get some money I'll have to check out the black Dark Island.

Dark Island is my favourite, if you have the money, for the price, nightstalker is good.

Well I have to agree that I think the Dark Island B-on-B is a sharper looking tartan. However, I ordered the SW Black HW yesterday, so I will se what I think when it arrives. I think that the SW is more checkerboard like. Not sure if that is good or bad.
