The Glenlivet

My favourite "budget" scotch is McClelland's 12yo Highland Sherry Finish single malt. It's $30U.S. a bottle, and tastes soooo good. I keep filling up my flask with it, and when I'm out I use up the flask giving all my friends tastes of it....

We went to the Glenlivet distillery last year. It is a first rate operation.

I'll never forget the angel's portion I took in as we walked through the

aging warehouse. I do like Glenlivet but my preference is one that has

a little more peat in its punch. I haven't met a Whiskey from Islay that

I did not like. Highland Park is also one of my favorites.

It took 3 1/2 years for my fiance (we've been together for a bit over 4 years) to finally give in (after much temptation) to the single malt Scotch demon...and now she's clearly possessed (just kidding). Fortunately, we agree blends are blasphemies.

Yes, I'm with you on that one Nelson.
I'm hoping soon to find a supplier in Tas of Ardbeg 10 year, now THAT is a nice drop.

I have heard of people setting themselves up as official suppliers where there is not one right now. This can result in your getting a fee everytime a bottle is purchased. The story that I have heard is that one of the better known liquors (can't remember which right now) was not a registered product for sale in BC. Anyway a private citizen set himself up as a supplier and when it finally broke the North American market he ws paid big bucks for the rights to distribute. Whether this was just a rumour or not, I don't know, but it was an article in a fairly reputable magazine a few years back.

Unfortunately their is likely a registered distributor on the Mainland of Australia. How cool would Graham Hodge from Glenlivet sound on a business card though?!
