Although, I have had my eye on some on eBay for casual wear, that are fancier from a tooled leather POV. The 3 tassel is a pretty plain accessory.

Anyway, thanks (NOT ) for bursting my bubble about this great sporran I wear to work!! I thought it must be very formal since I spent $25 for it (although others were going for $85-$100), and had a nice junk metal chain!
Rob, tassels to me mean 'semi-formal', not 'casual'. Plain, unadorned leather is 'casual'!

As for chains! Uggggh! They are for Dress sporrans, not even semi-formal ones - besides, they'll ruin a good kilt over a period of time. I've seen some horrendous damage done to kilts by sporran chains being worn daily. No, leather straps are what all kilt wearers need for casual or day sporrans. The present-day fad for a chain to be supplied willy-nilly with any sporran is a fairly recent innovation. Don't ask me where it has come from. It's crazy!
