    Thanks Guys for the comments. Its good to share digital photos other wise they vanish into the digital drawer never to be seen again. I'm glad to find out about the symbol on the shell. I fancy trying to make a kilt pit with it using the shell and symbol as the centre piece. I'll let you know if I manage it.

    You are correct! The scallop is a symbol of a pilgrim, especially one who makes a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compestella in NE Spain, to the shrine of St. James (Santiago) the Apostle. In my church we have the coat-of-arms of various saints displayed in the nave of the church (it was common to give arms to religious figures in the Middle Ages), and the scallop is on the arms of St. James.

    Those are beautiful pictures of both Scotland and Ireland.
    One of these years I'm going to have to see these sights myself.

    I also liked the pictures of your kilt pins and sporrans. Have to keep that "gecko" in mind for the next time I have to fly somewhere ...
