But just for the record, if you were to play street hockey in Canada it would be called *road* hockey and you wouldn't be wearing inline skates - we play in our regular footware, it's a running game. And the most important thing to learn is to yell "car" when necessary.

I remember the days before inline skates when we played street hockey with our sneakers. It was more fun.
And we were lucky enough to be able to play it on a cul-de-sac where we never had to yell "car" because the people who lived around it either didn't drive or, in the case of one, worked 12 hour days and never left his house after he got home. The choice days were after it snowed when we could actually build up a wall around the open side and never had to worry about the ball rolling down the hill.
Ahhh, memories...
