Yes, but you've got to admire the cleverness and humor in the ads.

The only ones I could view were the Kiwi and one of the Stella Artois advertisements. The others caused my computer to freeze and I had to reboot (I think that's what it is called!!). Oh, dear! Technology and me are not really compatible!

Hi Hamish
I'm going to assume you have a pc computer and are using explorer as a browser. After several movies, the program is going to have troubles because the cache will be full. The Foxhunting video is large so that could cause some software distress. If this is the pattern of the crashes then, I hope somebody can pass on easy instructions on assigning the program more memory and a larger cache. Again, if this is the pattern, then another solution is to assess how many movies before the freeze up and, in future, quit explorer after a couple of movies, and then watch the rest. Try quitting explorer and going to the foxhunting after re-opening the program. It should work.
Hopefully this is not too much gobbledygook.

It goes off a couple of themes. The first, of course, is the rivalry between England and Scotland. England's shocked at Scotland's outragousness, that's funny and that always works for me.
The other is growing up with the Scottish joke of "why is that man walking and biting the cat's tail? Listen to the horrible noise it is making." Only this time it's a goat kid bleating "Scotland the Brave", which is also reminiscent of us (human) kids pretending to play the pipes by humming and chopping at out throats. Maybe it's all just a Scottish kid's thing.

Oh, that is really kind of you to come to my rescue, but I fear it IS (for me) "too much gobbledygook" Yes, I have a PC but I have no real idea whether I use explorer as a browser - I have AOL Broadband and use that for all my Internet work. More than that and I am at a loss.
I've just been back for another try. Saw the Kiwi advertisement on the first three 'link windows', and then a window appeared telling me I need to download some more software in order to view the fourth one. I don't risk dowloading things I don't understand - they often seem to fail to download anyway - and so I don't bother with them.
Don't worry! I am content in my ignorance (I suppose!) ;), but thanks again.

Archangel, while this explanation makes complete sense to me, I am not sure it is going to be helpful to Ham, based on his professed technical skills, or lack thereof. For ease's sake, Ham, try closing all web browser windows, then open up one explorer window and go to the movie. It is OK to come here first to get the link. The other option is to change to the Firefox browser.
The link above is to download the browser. Then you will just need to double click on the file you downloaded and it will install the software. After the install, double-click on the new Firefox icon on your desktop and go to the movies you want to see.
Ham, if this is still beyond your technology comfort level, I will HAVE to schedule a visit!:smile:
Cheers!

You know me well, Rob, but not as well as you think! Even your guidelines are beyond me, I'm afraid. I have no idea what "web browser windows" and an "explorer window" are, and as for opening and closing them, well........!

I wish you would, Rob! I do know how to defragment my hard disk though and did it just after Easter, and I did help my neighbour to log back on-line yesterday - she's been unable to for several weeks and we found she had 587 E-mails waiting! So I am not a complete ninckenpoop and am always up for learning new tricks!!

Ham,
If you are defragmenting your hard disk, then you are far from a nincompoop! Anyway, I did not realize that you were using AOL (is that allowed in the UK??), but while AOL does shield you from some of the (ahem) intricacies of surfing, it can at times also leave you unable to accomplish your purpose FOR surfing. I'll review my AOL stuff and see if I can come up with a solution.
For reference and knowledge, when you surf using AOL, you are using a "browser", it is just AOL's (and before anybody jumps on, I know that it is a customized version of another browser!). There are other browsers out there, such as Internet Explorer from Micro$oft and Firefox from Mozilla (the people that developed Netscape), and some others, such as Opera, etc.. A browser is just a piece of software that lets you acess internet sites and presents the information to you.
AOL has the advantage for a non-technical user in that it hides all of the "connecting to the Internet stuff" from the user. You click one thing and are off and running (in most cases . However, once you have AOL off and running, you can chose to use any of the other browsers. So if you get daring, or are bored one day, you could chose to double-click AOL to get you to the Internet, then double-click on the Internet Explorer icon, or even the Firefox icon if you have downloaded and installed it.
BTW, I wonder, based on the time of this post, what you are doing up so late on a Friday night surfing the Internet? Go have some fun! The time differnece between here and the UK is 6+ hours I believe, that makes it 2:00AM or thereabouts!
