Does ordained in the Ancient Order of the Lush count? Or possibly an acolyte in the worship of the (fermented) grape?:grin:

Oh well, didn't think so, but I would be interested in seeing the tartan, if it exists. And if not, possibly Mac could design one. His work on the XMarks tartan was outstanding (even if he did it before I got here and now I have to wait for the next order!).

The blue clergy tartan is readily available, I have a friend (a minister) who has a kilt in this tartan, he wore it at the Kirk'in service last year.

I'm assuming you mean 'Blue Clergy'.

Can you explain to me the connection between Blue Clergy and the Clark/Clarke/Clarkson history?

Matt N has a good understanding of it, and will correct me where I err. Here is his take on it all, from his own keyboard.

    http://blog.albanach.org/2005/07/clergy-tartan.html

"Clark" means "clerk" or "clergyman" When the Clark family were looking for a tartan, they just slightly changed the Clergy blue. I think they made one blue stripe into white. I think.

Southern Breeze - a fellow man of the cloth. Y'know there are several of us. We should have an annual gathering, or something! 8)

I'm still interested in the Clergy Green Ancient, which is darker than Clergy Green, go figure (like the scarf my wife got me)

Well, it's a goal for next year, when I have some money to save again.

Hey, shouldn't this thread be under "Traditional Kilts"?

Resurrecting this thread a bit...I was thinking today of the clergy tartan.
I think I should place it on my list of tartans I desire.

It would be nice to wear when preaching or at other church functions.
