As a kilt for Highland games, or just to have a knock-around, I wouldn't mind a Sportkilt, but convincing my wife is another matter.

The "tank" is the preferred item to spend money on. Her feeling is, if you are going to spend money on a kilt (which she doesn't mind) then you'd better get one that will live longer than you will. She plans on me living a looooooong time. So, unless an alternative solution comes up, the first Clergy will likely be a tank.

However, I'm trying to convince her of the "value" of having PV casual kilts for me and the boys first. It's a hard sell.

    Hey, she's half-Scottish, half-Jewish, what can I say!

    John,

Is that you and your wife in your avatar? Very nice fly plaid.

And you don't look bad either!

Seriously, seeing that reminds me of another thread I needed to start.

Heres two more qualifications for this tarten-Ordination in the Ancient order of the kilt and Acolytes in the worship of the unbifurcated garment.

    Yeah, that's us.

I get nervous when I'm not wearing my cassock and cross, but interestingly, I feel fine in the kilt. Actually, I feel great in a kilt! Now I need to get one!

Now, if I could only get people to stop saying, when they see us, "So, sir, how old is your daughter?"

    Oops

I forgot to mention. That plaid is the Robertson Red, my wife's clan.

I'm in the Black Watch. As were the boys for these portraits.

Has anyone seen the "Burning Bush" kilt pin and hat badge for Christian Clergy on ebay?

They look great! I think I'm going to have to update my Christmas list.

Now, how to casually work it into conversation with my wife.... :o

    Father, Bless!

The "burning bush" is the emblem of the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian).

    Todd
