Like the cap, not sure though

Love the cap, not sure about it with the black stewart. Looks like they MIGHT fight each other, but as others have mentioned, the separation might make it a non-issue.

However, I have found that while a hat, or any other accessories, worn with trousers will be ignored, people look much more closely at how I accessorize when I wear the kilt. Maybe because they aren't sure what goes together (neither am I, but I don't tell them that!) and are using what I wear as a way to find out.

I'm going to second KCW. Yes, the colors match, but unless you have a shirt that compliments both and will bridge the difference between the two, I wouldn't put the two of them together.

My thinking is this: your Black Stewart has bright, strong colors. The cap does have the same colors, but much more subdued. If there's such a thing as a "Muted" or "Ancient" Black Stewart - that I could see as a match, colors and hue.

Just came back and looked at this again. Get the hat and wear it, it will go with the kilt just fine. Subdued colours will allow the kilt to hold the attention, will also prevent you from looking like some exotic bird with your comb spread. A shirt of solid colour which compliments both would set things of to a fine display. The combination of complimentry colours shared between the two should make it look like they are ment to be worn together.
Add in hose matched to a minor colour of the kilt with flash mated to a major colour or even to the shirt and there you are...a picture of sartorial perfection.
