A simple plain black belt with a chrome pronged buckle would, again, be more suited to your environment, and to the time of day. But then, as Wompet rightly points out, I am seeing you with British eyes not American ones!
Ham, you, my wife, and the ladies at work! I am brow beaten at every turn!
Seriously, I think that the worst part of the shirt is the blue striping on the sleeves and collar, other than that, it is a plain medium gray polo shirt. I also considered twice before wearing it, but decided that I could get away with it once! The belt is a problem for me. It is a Stillwater that I picked up for a good price on eBay. I am not by nature a flashy person, so the buckle was less than well received and the belt is actually too large (waist not width). I did like wearing a belt with the USAK semi-trad. I think it is the perfect accessory, and I found that the kilt just rode better with a belt. I did manage to find a wide leather belt with a standard buckle, and a tooled design on the belt, at Target today that should the perfect accessory for casual/informal occasions. The hardest part in putting together a nice outfit (besides only having 5 kilts available!) is what is preceived as formal vs. informal attire. I am actually going to start a thread on that regarding jackets.
Thanks for the input.

I've mentioned this in other posts but it fits here too. I usually wear a military surplus web belt. It goes well with everything and I recieve favourable comments about it. Mine is OD but I was reminded in another thread that black is also available so I'm going to look for one of those.
It is hard to tie in informal shirts to kilts. It can work with rock or Batman themes but Disney is difficult to imagine, unless they re-release Rob Roy.

Don't forget Scrooge MacDuck! They even designed a MacDuck tartan.

I really enjoy your collection of pics. I've flipped through the whole album several times and it's always throught-provoking. I've picked up a number of ideas for what I can and can not wear from your ablum over the past nine months, so THANKS.

As usual, I'm appreciating Hamish's thoughts on what to wear and what not to wear with the kilt.
I wasn't aware that the Clan McDuck had their own tartan, but then, Google came through for me:

Then there are these variations:

They're all to be found, and more over HERE
Thanks everyone for the pics and guidance for us new kilt wearers.

The clan McDuck is my favourite instance in Disney comics. I have read every single story conserning clan McDuck. And all the work Don Rosa has done to even more deepen the history of McDucks is amazing. The treasure of the Templars! For god sake! As a crusader history fan I just love that!
And all the work with heraldry. For example the description of the crest of McDucks is great! You can find it on the same page MacMullen posted. There is only one mistake in the history. And it could have been seen in the last part of the full story of life of Scrooge McDuck. It is related to the clan tartan... Can you find it!?
