SB, those manuscripts do not surprise me as commanding such a price, given their wide acceptance and the fame of the author in question. But I did not think Mackay's book was such a seminal work, nor was he such an accomplished author (although I have not done any research, so forgive me if I am wrong). I could very well be wrong, possibly 50 years from now a signed copy of the "Dummies Guide to the Internet" will command such a price. Who knows will be valued in the future?
