Skirt... kilt... whatever...
I actually find more women referring to it as a "skirt". Men seem to know it is a kilt - whether they think it is silly or not.
Anyway, once you realize that "skirt" is just a word and has no meaning beyond what *you* endow it with... well, it ceases to become important whether someone calls your kilt a skirt or a kilt. (Hence Steven's response to that customer letter in the latest Newsletter.)
Oh yeah... and for the original poster, I just wanted to be clear: NOBODY who sells a Utilikilt makes a comission. In the store, over the phone, or at an event, you will always pay the same price, and the only incentive the person has for selling you a kilt is their own enthusiasm for wearing them.
... but no matter what anyone says, I really don't want to wear a traditional women's skirt...

Read a little more carefully. I am the original poster and I made no mention whatever of anything besides the link to Steven's comment. You owe me an apology.

It may not be called a commission but Volulnteers working the booths at events earn "credits" toward a purchase from UK. I agree it takes a lot of enthusiasm about the product and the company to want a UK bad enough to spend a few shiftes in the booth, but that wouldn't be my reason for working the booth. It always comes down to the NEW KILT!

Not entirely true. While I did not turn down the kilt credit, I did end up giving a UK to my brother, because I simply did not need another UK at this time. However, I did work the event because I want to spread the work of UK's and kilting in general, and because it is a lot of fun.
And kilt credits are still not based on how many you sell, but rather just because you show up and work.

Best comment: last saturday night, olive UK, downtown Long Beach CA "you got more balls than I do man" (by a guy twice my size).
Of course I was wearing my Clan Inebriated t-shirt to compliment my UK so responses were divided but positive on both.
CT - I need more kilts !
