You Think I'm Cold????
Hell-o all,
As many of you know from a recent post from Scott (Kiltedfirepiper) that we had a few flakes of snow gathering on the ground the last few days.
Also as many of you know I live close to the University of Denver and one of the first buildings they built was an observatory. It sits in a park a few blocks away from my house.
As custom has had it for many years the neighborhood council always has a Christmas Party there. Christmas Carols, Hay rides for the kids, neighbors getting together and chatting. Star gazing (if lack of clouds permit), cider, cookies, etc. inside the observatory. So tonight was the event.
Well it was a little brisk and I must admit my fingers were cold. Yet I was outside singing the Carols with the best of them when this late 20 something came up to me and of course asked the question of coldness. What was this chap wearing but a tee shirt and shorts, of all people thinking that I was cold? I did however thank him for his concern.

What? All of the Mt. folk out and about tonight.
I posted this earler to box pleats & winter.
This evening I took a short walk with the dog in the snow and it is 7F. Had on Sorals, Poly socks, wool kilt socks and my box pleat kilt, rugby shirt,Fleese jacket, wool tam and light gloves. The only thing that was cold was my hands. I needed heavier gloves .

People have stopped asking me if I'm cold wearing the kilt in winter. I guess the pics of me walking in the snow with the pleatds a flappin that were in the local paper answered that question

Man, it has been cold here recently. They're saying 9F for the HIGH on Weds....Brrrr.
That observatory park has always been a favorite of mine. Really a beautiful neighborhood there. Sounds like you had fun!

Today the high temp was 7 degrees (F), and to my surprise, I didn't get one question about being cold! Usually I get bombarded with that question on days like today.

Just returned from an evening stroll, -12F at my house. Not intolerable, but if it were that temp, with wind and snow, I'd still go for the jeans with long johns.
You other Denver guys are probably tired of hearing everyone moan about the cold by now.... I turn on KOA at any given time today, and within 30 seconds, I hear the phrase "bitter cold." Whine. It's WINTER.
I like to tune in KNX 1070 AM out in Los Angeles sometimes - you can catch it here at night. The weather guy said we might want to bundle up for the overnight low of +43F...!! You poor CA dudes. You must be freezing.
You haven't lived until the boys retract to approximately your sternum.

when I hear people whine about the cold I just want to say to them ..." sounds like you need a shot of quit being a P#$$Y straight up...no ice! "
or how about I just give you 2 Mg. of SUCK IT UP!! I.V. push!
I knew it was going to get cold when I moved here.....so I have no right to piss and moan when its cold! I might comment on the cold ....but I wont bitch about it! its kinda like people who live in tornado alley they KNOW there are tornados there.....so WHY ARE YOU SUPPRISED when one hits your home? and what do they say afterwards? " we're going to rebuild!
boggles the mind
Scott......currently injecting SUCK IT UP!!! in between my toes
