I think we all consider Andrew as a real friend, don't we??:-)
It time we all paid a social visit...just in case he thinks we're ignoring him

Did I mention that I opened a 12 year Bowmore on St.andrews day for the pipe band that played??

It was nice, but frankly lacked the peaty, seaweedy, smoky flavour of Laphroaig/Ardbeg, which I love.

It's a good $25 lower than what it normally goes for around here, too! I should get another bottle, so when all my "fair-whisky" friends drop in I can host them. Or so when I finish knocking back this bottle I'll have another on stand-by.

But of course you're all invited to stop on by for a dram.

    Andrew.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I was looking into the price of some malts in BC as compared to Alberta and was shocked to see that they were half the price in Alberta. Luckily I have a friend spend Christmas in Calgary with her family. So for the cost of a bottle of Oban 14 year in BC, I am getting a bottle of Oban 14 year and a bottle of either Highland Park 12 yr or Dlawhinnie 15 year.

I enjoy Dalwhinne but I love Highland Park.
Oban is on my wish list.

I stayed right beside the distillery in Oban and never even tried it until years later. I tried Dalwhinnie a few months ago and fell in love with it (after the hang over of finishing half the bottle between 3 of us wore off). I am still think of MacCallans 12 year as well. I might as well stock the cupboard for some time to come. I haven't tried Highland Park but have heard great things

Always have a bottle of The Glenlivet on hand for the wife (made the mistake of letting her have one at the Longs Peak Highland Festival one year) another of either Oban, Cragganmore or one of the Wood Finish Glenmorangie's on hand. Occasionally I will have something else. Right now it is a bottle of Old Pulteny. Not my favorite but at $25 it sure beats not having any Single Malt around.

Unfortunatly I live in a land of no special offers on spirits so I have to pay full wack.
However my Christmas gift to myself this year will be a Laphroaig quarter cask or an Ardbeg 10yo.....
I love Laga... too enjoy the power Andrew ;-)
    All the Best.....David.
