    Me too Derek,

I believe in mix and match and experiment with looks....which is a fancy way to say, "What's clean today." ??:

If you live where there are few or no "kilt experts" then we have a lot more lattitude to play around with "looks."

    Ain't it fun!?

    Derek,

You look grerat in both shots! You always seem to have a good balance in what you wear, thus showing off the Cilt as the main focus.

Hey Derek! Looking good! My personal preference when wearing heavy boots is to roll or push the socks down in a more casual/working mode. If it's cold enough to want to wear the socks "up" then I try to have them match the boots as much as possible so I avoid the "half & half" look. But that's just my preference, you look fine in both pictures.

I love Jethro Tull, they inspired me to take up the flute when I was younger.

    Where are you Hamish??

I reckon he'll say lighter hose, whose taking bets?

Graham, only if you are giving good odds! I think Ham's hose preferences have been well expressed by him!

    Ah, ha! Got you there!

As I was saying: Of the options you have given us here, I must go for the ...
(Wait for it! Wait for it!) ... light-coloured hose. We just cannot wear black hose wiv Brahn Boots, and black boots with black hose would be just too much 'black'. Ideally then, for your evening gigs when your audience has gone to the trouble to dress smartly, you should wear the black sweater (which looks fantastic with your Morgan kilt), light hose and black boots.

Actually, although your khaki sweater works quite well for casual day-time wear, the black sweater really shows off the Morgan tartan to great effect.

Jamie mentions folding/rolling down the hose when wearing boots. In general, that is the most effective way of doing it, but your boots are of a soft, canvas-like fabric; they are slim and light-looking and wearing the hose down to their tops would be too much for them. They are not bulky or heavy enough to carry it off so stick with the hose worn as you normally would.

Well done, Derek. We're getting there. Just get hold of the black boots .............and a red shirt to pick up the red in the tartan.........
