No, it was several GREAT cigars. Among cigar smokers a "cigar night" is much like a kilt night. A chance to meet, get together, make friends and share what all enjoy.
As a just in case, I'll get hold of some of my family, Concord/Mt. Pleasant area, for any good pubs in Charlotte. I'm close enough to RDU to check around there myself.

I'm for Charlotte too. They have a great pub uptown as well.
RiRa's. They even have a room that could be reserved.

It is in downtown so parking is within a couple of blocks.
As long as we choose a night when there isn't a sports event
it should not be a problem.
I was just there last night for the U2 concert and it was packed.
Even though they have several pubs now, Charlotte was their first.
They did not start out to be a chain. Having been to pubs in the Ireland and
Scotland I can honestly say they have done a fine job.

There is a RiRa's in Raleigh too. Great place, as are the other Irish pubs in the area.
You guys name the date and place, and I will be there

Great! Glad to see there is some interest here! I'm looking at having time to do the homework and the deed after the first of the year. Maybe we're looking at the late January, early Feburary time frame?
Nelson RiRa's sounds good and after looking at their web site looks good too. If I have a chance, I'll be in Charlotte over Christmas, I'll check it out in person. Mind if I use you as a "local" resource?

While I didn't get a chance to visit the pub, I checked it out thru some of the younger members of the family and their friends. Sounds like a nice place. Got reviews that ranged from "nice upscale pub" to "I was so drunk I don't remember much about it" That from a drop dead beautiful niece that went in alone and came out with a boyfriend that she still has several years later.
I'll keep an eye open and if something else catches my eye I'll post it here.
