She was looking at your shoes, while you were kilted? Maybe you embarrased her with your charm and she became tongue tied and could only come up with the shoe shine comment. Just an idea, an off the wall idea, but it is all that I could think of.

I'm sure she wanted the shoes to be shiny so she could see what was reflected.;-)

That's too funny. She managed to turn the tables on ya and left you thinking about what she was hinting about.

Just last night I was standing in the bakery at Wal Mart, talking to one of our friends when a teenage girl starts yelling all the way from the other end by the deli. She's yelling "You rock!, I love that kilt!".
After a few more exited hoots & hollers her father comes over & starts talking kilts with me & tells me that he has one & only wears it for special occasions though. He agreed with me on wearing them just because they are so comfortable & seemed quite interested when I explained that I was slowly working toward wearing kilts only. Perhaps I've planted the kilt seed in another mind.
Then a woman came over & wanted to know where I had purchased my kilt because her son wants one really badly.

Quite an interesting & pleasant evening.

    Aye David,

Think you got it right about why she wanted your shoes shined.

The lady NEEDS a Regimental Validator.

I'm sure several of the ladies at the beer festivals would have made use of that device.;-)

Might have to carry it in a backpack but this might be required for most kilt wearers

I may get my wife a "Regimental Vaidator" for the holiday. She'd like it, as long as she was the only one with one

Nah, this should be sufficient, and it wouldn't need a backpack.

Hmm ... come to think of it, we have a few of these at work ... and a lot of polished leather shoes ... maybe it's a good thing kilts aren't part of the uniform dress code?
